Today it is one of the important building materials. Before bricks were invented, stones, logs, wood and etc were used to build buildings. The main component of brick is clay. Clay is sort of a fine- grained earth found in plenty on our earth. Clay is workable when it is wet. Baking of the clay makes it stronger. The building stands strong due to the baked, strong bricks. To make bricks, the clay is first made wet and molded into different shapes as desired using a mold and baked to make it strong. The modern method is to wet the clay and lay it in a big line and cut into desired shapes and baked in high furnace. Nowadays cement is used in making of bricks (blocks). They are slightly bigger than the standard size of the bricks. Blocks or bricks made in cement are hollow and widely used across nations for building high raised buildings.
