How are bricks made?
Hello friends, this piece of information will be of great use for people those who are interested in making of bricks. Bricks were used by man since historic period. Today it is one of the important building materials. Before bricks were invented, stones, logs, wood and etc were used to build buildings. The main component of brick is clay. Clay is sort of a fine- grained earth found in plenty on our earth. Clay is workable when it is wet. Baking of the clay makes it stronger. The building stands strong due to the baked, strong bricks. To make bricks, the clay is first made wet and molded into different shapes as desired using a mold and baked to make it strong. The modern method is to wet the clay and lay it in a big line and cut into desired shapes and baked in high furnace. Nowadays cement is used in making of bricks (blocks). They are slightly bigger than the standard size of the bricks. Blocks or bricks made in cement are hollow and widely used across nations for building high raised buildings. The cement blocks are said to be stronger compared to the normal clay baked bricks. They are gaining importance compared to the traditional clay bricks.
Shopping
Shopping is one of the words teens love, especially the girls. This shopping revolves mainly around the fashion industry. It may vary from a dress, footwear or an accessory. When people start shopping they never know how the time passes, they get so involved in it. Teens consider shopping as a sign for their freedom, nothing can be better than choosing their things. It gives a feel of decision maker. Main reason for teens liking it is, not a penny is spent from their pockets. It is the parents or their boyfriends/girlfriends who suffer. At times it turns out into a disaster, they end up being spendthrifts. There is a tendency that in the later part of life they may not be able handle money efficiently. The movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic” is a very good example of the problems faced by teens that are addicted to shopping. One main thing that can be done to avoid spending control is to put a stop to the use of credit cards. In many cases, People have lost track of how much they are spending. The consciousness should be imbibed in people from their childhood. Definitely shopping is important, because the confidence people get from sporting their choice is immense. Only, it should be made sure is to be in limit. Budgeting before getting into the shopping spree will be a nice option. Whatever it is, everyone like one of type of shopping and it does not involve money – Window Shopping. Happy Shopping people!!
Western culture
Time and again we look around, and we see the spread of the cultures in various regions. One such culture is the western culture. A person from the west planned on visiting various other places, and hence decided on a trip. There when she met various people she saw varied cultures. Culture means that string which weaves people into a cloth. In that trip they met people who lived with their parents and even grand parents included. Born and brought up in a place where they claim independence at the age of eighteen, this style of living with parents seemed very strange to them. They are allowed to plant their own roots and grow in to a tree all on their own. Where the wedding is a days affair, where the ceremonies are a play of white the weddings at places they visited seemed a play of color. One of the strangest thing that they noticed was, even if the husband beat his family up, no one had a say, while if even a child was beaten up, they called the police and they were taken into immediate rescue. Culture is the cultivation of the place the environment and of the people who have inhabited the place for ages. Culture is a trend which should keep changing to the best of the people.
When was the first Newspaper published?
Hello friends. The idea of writing down important news on a paper and send to friends or other important people is not a new one. In Rome, around the fifth century B.C., people used to send newsletter to people who were living away from the capital to keep them informed about the happenings. In 60 B.C Julius Caesar regulated this. A bulletin for posting in the forum was published by his government. It was called “Acta Diurna” meaning “Daily Happenings”. In the sixteenth century forgers, a German Family of international bankers started a newspaper. Although their main interest was to promote their business rather than politics, their contribution is important because they actually established a proper system for collecting reliable news to be passed on to maximum number of people. In America, “Public Occurrences” was started in 1690 in Boston. I could not continue for long. Another paper “Pennsylvania Gazette” came out in 1729. By the time of the American Revolution people were so keen on newspaper that as many as 37 of them were being published in U.S.A. Today thousands of newspapers are published in different countries of the world in different language. I hope this information provided here would have been put into use.
Co-Curricular activities
Education is important for an individual for setting up their future career and livelihood. But the thing that the society forgets to imbibe in a child’s mind is that, money doesn’t make life complete. The adults know how their lifestyle changes once they are adults. In making a career, they leave all the other small but important things in their life. They forget their real passion. People live to make money and to set a career for their children. The children grow up and continue to do the same. The vicious cycle goes on and on. But what people forget is to live their lives. Main reason behind this is that the importance that should be given for co-curricular activities are not given. Children may really like dance or music or a sport, but parents stress on studies so much that they lose touch in their interest. Also there would have been a possibility that they could have made a career in their field of interest and hence could have leaded a happy life. Parents should not impose a career on their children. Their future is snatched away from them. And even if they cannot make a career in an extra curricular field, at least they can relieve from stress. Co-curricular activities must be equal importance as studies. Talent should be recognized and given a chance even if it is not a profession that the society respects.
Heart Transplants
Often we see advertisements in television and newspapers stating/asking us to donate organs for people who are in desperate need. Though the organs would be of no use to us after death, people still hesitate to donate. This is a small explanation of the donation procedure. It may inspire and ease people to donate. A heart transplant is surgery to remove a person’s diseased heart and replace it with a healthy heart from a deceased donor. The operation is harvesting the heart from the donor. The donor is an unfortunate person who has suffered irreversible brain injury, called “brain death”. A team of physicians, nurses, and technicians go to the hospital of the donor to remove donated organs once brain death of the donor has been determined. The removed organs are transported on ice to keep them alive until they can be implanted. For the heart, this is optimally less than six hours. So, the organs are often flown by airplane or helicopter to the recipient’s hospital with full police protection. Heart transplants though now a easy process is not common because the awareness is less. Another reason is that all the insurers don’t pay for heart transplant. Donors are very less. When life is going to end some day, why don’t people give their organs after their death?? In fact by donating organs, people live through someone else!! So it is humbly requested that people should come forward and start donating organs. Start registering with your nearby hospital and live after death.
Did Pigeons carry Mails?
Hello friends. This is a very important question which arises often in our mind. During the ancient times, pigeons were used to carry mails from place to place in countries like China, India and Persia. The pigeons were given special training to carry the mails and letters. Generally the letters drafted in a palm leaf was fastened to the legs of the pigeons and sent to the destinations. Some kings used to tie the mails around their neck as well. But the modern usage of pigeons to deliver mails took place only in Paris during 1870s, when France and Prussia were at war. The Prussians had surrounded France and they never allowed any person or mails to enter of leave France which resulted in usage of trained pigeons. The French used balloons, which carried hundreds of homing pigeons. Thirty five pigeons used to carry the same letter so that in case, if some were shot dead, at least one would reach the destination. The letters were first reduced in size by photography and films were fastened in the pigeon’s legs. When the pigeons reached Paris the films were projected in a large screen and had written on a paper and derived to homes in the city. This was called the “Pigeon Post”.
